Heyla Mythic Dead on Tyranny's 10th Anniversary

Squid was on the dinner menu. 3/3M and US 64th!

Congratulations on the guild persevering through obnoxious tuning before and during the Holidays and some major strat reorganization to get this tough boss down! The last four nights since the Holidays ended were all extremely clean and all built on each other. The structure of Phase 3 is very interesting and it's been some time since we've had to do a big movement-plan strat like that. The walls presented by combos/timing of abilities were surprising, and it took some careful studying of available data to overcome them. Very nuanced. Really it is a great fight that came together the last few raids.

We also brought in some very strong trials over the last six weeks who have complimented our core raiders and have really help to push Tyranny's performance forward. It must be said that though the image above has 20 people in it, the ENTIRE raid roster plus a couple of retired put in many, many pulls on this fight over the last few weeks. Also thanks to folks who switched to their alts for this encounter. This was the very definition of a team effort, fitting because it is the 10th Anniversary of our team!

Overall, Great job learning the ropes in this encounter new guys, and everybody, a great start to the expansion continues with Nighthold just around the corner!

Semi-related, January 2017 marks Tyranny's 10th Anniversary as as a guild. We were founded (as Anarchy, long story) on Lothar by Draveth, Orange and other ex-Members of the vanilla raiding guild Demolition / Ruin as a reform at the start of The Burning Crusade.

Over the past 10 years Tyranny has maintained top 100 with only two short interruptions, reaching as high as US 19th in Siege of Orgrimmar (Tier 16), and averaging between 39 and 80. Its unbroken line of success - killing hundreds of progression bosses in every single raid tier (all while relevant) and overcoming five (and soon six) consecutive expansions worth of challenges boils down to the extraordinary people that Tyranny has been gifted to have on its roster over the past 10 years, many of whom raid to this very day or returned to play with the launch of Legion.

There are many guilds out there where they are just that assemblage of people's latest raiding gig. Not Tyranny. It never has been and never will be. So many people, not the least of which our current raid team, have worked tremendously hard to make this place thrive. We kept the faith and we always challenged ourselves to do better in the latest raid environment as a hardcore raiding guild.

The Legion model forces you to ask yourself "what have you done today to help your raid team?" For Tyranny, that's been a question everyone has asked themselves, every day, for 10 years. The end result is we're here, with yet another instance and big fight behind us, 10 years later. And we're about to do it again NEXT week! How cool is that?

Over the years Tyranny changed the course of so many lives and made them better and brought amazing people together for the purposes of raiding, but also for friendship, in-game and outside of game. I am as proud of the positive impact Tyranny has had on our raiders as our in-game raid success over the years. Tyranny has always been a hardcore raiding guild. But it's also always been about the people. Tyranny, as it is, is the labor of love of literally hundreds of people - past, present and future and that's why I know that the Tyranny, 10 years from now, will be standing tall.

I can't wait for the next 10 years will bring: more awesome progression, more amazing people, more unforgettable moments. Whether it's Kael'thas, Illidan or Kil'jaden. Yogg or the Lich King, Ragnaros or Deathwing. Garrosh. Blackhand. Archimonde. Helya... and soon Guldan... Tyranny will ALWAYS rise to the challenge!

Congratulations on Mythic Helya, Team Tyranny! And to another 10 years of staggeringly fun raiding and staggeringly amazing people.
