What are the benefits to using this over WoL? Does it live parse?

I does not live parse, you must upload it afterwards. However, there are some cool features.

One thing that I like about it over WoL, is that there is a mechanics feature. It show different boss abilities, how got hit by them, how many times, total damage taken from that, and even if you died to it. Of course you can do that in WoL, but it's just a simple button here.

Here's a parse where you can see a 25-man against Halfus.

Because Time Warden is up, Fireball barrage is dodge-able. Here, you can see how many times each person was hit by it, and even quickly see that their priest healer died to it.
And it has some nifty graphs everywhere. http://www.raidlogs.com/fight/healing_sources/684/7/?type=src_tar

Maybe worth a try?

I can do it if it'll be a hassle to anyone else.

I saw this a few weeks ago too.. It seems easier in terms of the Log Dashboard but they seem to be the same thing...

IMO have someone run this (Like Nyt) and see what the raid in general likes more and works better.. I for one don't like clicking 8 links to find what a person died to, but it not being live is also an issue..

I'm sure it takes a few seconds after a wipe to upload it? Pretty sure we didn't always have the live raid status shit..

Doesn't seem like a question of either/or.  Why not run both?  Especially if we run into an encounter that we're trying to test a recruit's ability to not stand in the fire.
