Greetings,

I'm not quite sure how much or how little info to provide, both extremes may frighten you.  Shocked

Boring Wall of Text to follow:

I've been playing WoW since release. Initially I was a human priest and raided into Molten Core. At the time, shadowpriests weren't as accepted as a raid spec and I quickly tired of staring at the CTraid hp boxes as holy. So I rerolled a human warlock. I played the lock into AQ20 some, but once again, the raid wanted me to go demonology/affliction and I clearly enjoyed destro/afflic. So I waved goodbye to the Alliance and transfered over to our sister guild on the Horde side.

I rolled a Tauren warrior and slowly worked my way up the ranks over the next 6-7 months; becoming the OT, then a class leader, then the MT for things like MC, ZG and AQ20. The guild topped out at this content and never went any further. So a bunch of us formed our own raid group and continued on through AQ40 and BWL. We were just starting Naxx when TBC was finally released.

In the middle of these toons, I've leveled a shammy, a hunter, a mage, another lock and a druid. They're all somewhere between 40 and 60. I decided to give the paladin a try when the blood elves became available and have really rededicated myself to the healing game. In fact, I've come to realize that I am probably a paladin at heart. It encompasses so many talents that I have come to rely on heavily when I'm not playing Slummish.  Tongue

I'll admit, I'm not the chattiest person when it comes to Ventrilo or /g and when I'm not raiding or farming, I'm spending my time playing alts. I enjoy the solo aspect of the game and have logged about 6000 hours amongst my toons doing such.

I'm friendly and generous to a fault. I run lowbies through instances, give away mats and gold to people I probably shouldn't and I try to maintain a positive reputation for what I consider to be my small Warcraft empire. I have groups of friends on several different servers.

I don't have much of life outside of reading, playing games and my dogs. I'm online 16 hours a day and am always available to help with instances and quests -- as long as I'm not sitting in Shatt or Org mindlessly, I'm happy.

My current hardcore guild is <Ruin> on Icecrown. We're the #2 Horde progression guild and there is a core of players with the latent skills to carry us through. The problem is, the officer core has fractured, and sadly, the more dramatic, less talented, less driven people have been left in charge. Our turnover is huge and it feels like we always have 2-3 new players every night we're raiding. In my personal opinion, dedication > talent... and when you don't have generous amounts of either, you eventually stall out.

Ruin has done exceedingly well for the obstacles we've faced and I give them credit for trying to make things work. But it's just not happening, things are being held together by a thread. I need a focused, determined group of players to continue with. Phat lootz are nice, but I'm really here to see and beat new content in a timely manner. I also seek to surround myself with people that know how to do their jobs and can do it. Wiping to bullshit mistakes over and over really gets old.

In addition, I am also not into guild drama. I'm not down with backstabbing or cliquishness. The shit I say behind your back, is the same thing I'll say directly to your face. In fact, the only gamers I tend to have a problem with are the prima donna types. If you've got the skills, then you've got a right to act like it. But most of the time, it's the most worthless people that act like they're teh uber. I'll never put a guildie on ignore, but I'm not afraid to pass along a 'stfu' should it be deserved.

I'm here to play. You'll never see a wipe that is my fault. You'll never have to ask me 'why didn't you heal me?' And you'll probably see me offering advice or suggestions or ideas as to how something should be attempted. I try not to be officious or speak out of turn and I don't act like I know more than you do. Truth is, I probably don't. I do, however, watch everything and everybody during boss encounters so that I can be helpful and help us tune our strategies.

All that being said, I think I'm a pretty decent and fair person. It takes a lot to push my buttons and overall, I'm just interested in having fun. I have no aspirations of officership or class mentoring. I just wanna show up and kill stuff and then crawl back into my hole until the next time we raid.

I am 30 years old, gay, white and Texan. I was raised on Atari, Nintendo, Sega, PlayStation, Xbox and a Tandy... aside from waiting for my evil grandmother to die so I can get my inheritance and move to South America, all I do is play WoW.

I thought I'd post here and give all of you folks an opportunity to discuss who I am and what I'm about before we both make a decision as to my potential new home.  Grin

-Kyle

I've probably been told already, but is Tarus still playing?  Several of us (Myself, Diox, Cerqua) were in <Stratagem> from July to December of last year, so I know quite a few people that are/were in Ruin... or rather, the Icecrown version of Ruin, since this guild used to be Ruin too.  >_<

no Tarus, the main Ruiners were, up until 2 months ago, Deathbiscuit, Zeria, Nirron, Keekyo, Nerd and Fawanash. there were lots of others, but if i had to guess, i'd say 30 of the 40 guildies we have now are all new recruits, mostly server transfers.

Ruin was started as a breakaway guild for the hardercore Stratagem folks... as it stands, they've all faded away and what we've been left with is a constant influx of people new to the server.

kinda sad really... everyone who's jumped ship has either joined Vindicatum or simply stopped playing.

here's a list of former guildies that i can think of atm, maybe you recognize their names?

Clarese/Groglox, Taliann, Draglok, Damoo, Hydro, Segomo, Safarijoe, Nerd, Deathbiscuit, Fawanash, Tsukasa, Guytane, Moonreaver, Axalon, Malkmus, Annouk, Ellipse, Firren, Legrac, Nykassa, Sefu, Silverelm, Vindor...

oy, there's so many more, but these are what I can come up with off the top of my head.

Yeah, I know about 10 of them.  Safarijoe (aka Ethios) and Axalon (aka Poseidon) are both from this guild, actually.  did Moonreaver ever actually play?  Dude was perpetually "busy" running/selling/buying/running/selling stores in Strat.

Just from seeing your meters, I'd have to say your warlocks are shitty and my utmost apologies. Here's hoping we get a fulltime paladin!

Edit: Also looks like those meters are not just for the boss fights indicated, unless this is pre-Morogrim HP nerf.

15 million+ damage done in just the top 10 damage dealers seems a "tad" over the top for that fight. Just a tad.

Now that you mention it...

I'm absolutely clueless as to when and where the dmg stacks up. Smiley My screen is full of health meters... But those are the meters posted by the raid leader. And if you think the locks are crap? You should see our mages... when they're not dead on the floor within the first minute of any fight, they're coming in below the warriors. >.<

edit:
And actually, looking back over those meters, those must not be our most recent meters. Sad Because the mages Daenrya and Whatmeworry aren't even in the guild as of this last week or so...

yeah we joined strat in july 06 and  deathbiscuit was recruited about 3 weeks later.
when we started crumbling we joked and said the guild should eb called <Server Transfers> since there were only really about 4   actual original strats left

im suprised in your list that keek stayed... i know he was pretty depressed about the expac and hunters in general i had heared he was going to roll  a BE mage and just screw around,  but that was just speaking with grimnar
ethios/ safarijoe was a lotharian as well, he came over  a few weeks after us to strat and joined as the priest,  and got very bored, so he started gearing his hunter. he was going to make the triop back here ot lothar when we moved, but we were aparently  full on  healers at the time.. el oh el.

i knew he was in ruin then i  believe went vindicatum  not   100% but im sad face that his alt hunter is now  ridiculously better geared than myself.

grog i remember, hydro was in strat when we werent around, only became back for  expansion rebirth and then we left, so i dont know him .  tsukassa  ( i think he is relatives with someone isnt he?  he  quit   / went MIA when strat was crumbling from what i remember.  eclipse was a recruit when we were there,  damoo i remember,  axalon/posiedon was never told of us coming back to lothar and was not going to be welcomed back if he tried/suggested it.

i saw firren on test realm way back and waved at him, Ippon  linked him his t3 shoulders, they had some laughs, stil hate eachother , all was well/ he was death biscuits friend . i loved moonreaver, no idea why i just really liked being partnered with him on  Noth fights lol, perhaps it was because he wasnt a retard.  we was always busy  but   when he wasnt  and played he was good, that was also when his gear wasnt gone, he had his account hacked like 8 times and all of his gear  DEd like 4 times...  became a running joke.

any how was nice hearing about old ppl ,especially ones that siad they were quitting and apparenty havent. i Miss talking with  Nirron in our  / worthlesschat channel.  nessaj still messages me to farm him gold for an epic mount, and i know he  and FEMA went alliance  on re rolls, they asked us to join but screw that Cheesy

any how   see  ya soon, and  yeah   i know i cant type, youll get used to it.
