May not be the right place to ask, but I trust you guys to be knowledgable.

Is there an easy way to map gear score to expected DPS, tanking, healing, etc.?

My guild has gotten a lot of new recruits lately, and I'd like to have a way to gage performance, and how to separate those lacking the gear vs. those lacking the skill.

If not, just say go away and I won't worry about it.

yeah, a rough estimate is really all you can get, because there are so many more factors than raw gear score that comprise the EV of a players output. Skill, itemization, gems, enchants, latency, etc. are all factors that contribute. You can input folks gear into several programs and get an idea of what their output could potentially be, but the easiest thing to do is look at someone's gear and say "you have great gear, but you suck...you must not like lighthouses."

Okie, thanks for the help.  Rough estimate is all I was really looking for, and Rawr seemed to do an ok job getting mine close.  At one time I was pretty familiar with multiple classes, but I've more or less limited my research to hunter for Lich King.

BTW, our raid leader does a pretty good job of playing bad cop.  I was looking to try taking the good cop role.
