Title: Recruitment Information
Post by: Skroesec on January 14, 2010, 10:48:08 pm
ABOUT US
Server: Drak'Tharon (PVP) - Horde
Raiding Hours: 8pm - 12am EST.  Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Sunday (4 days)

WEEKLY RAIDING SCHEDULE
1 x Icecrown Citadel 25 player
2 x Icecrown Citadel 10 player
1 x Trial of the Grand Crusader 25 player

Tyranny is a fast paced raiding guild that has been server first and US Top 100 since Sunwell was released. More recently, our Server first Heroic: Glory of the Ulduar raider, Heroic: Tribute to Insanity (Anub Heroic in 50 attempts) and Yogg+0 "Death's Demise" has moved us to US 78th rank. Our Lich King 25 Hard Mode kill was US #80. We kill content months ahead of almost any other guild on Drak'tharon or our Battlegroup.

Tyranny has been in continuous existence since shortly before Burning Crusade was released but its foundational legacy can be traced to WoW's launch. It manged pre-nerf kills of all content in that expansion, including US#70th Mu'ru and US #80th Kil'jaeden.

Tyranny strives to play with a high level of professionalism. Everyone is here to do a job. There are many people in this guild that are close, even real life friends, but every member's first and foremost responsibility is to maintain the high level of performance that keeps this guild so competitive. One thing most unique about Tyranny is that we're exceptional at developing efficient, simple strategies that control as many aspects of the fight as possible. We find that this work's best for us. Our strategies are often vastly superior to what is found on the internet, and we keep them very close to our chest as a result.

Tyranny takes the "football" approach to its roster. We typically have 35-39 members tagged, all in primary raiding slots. This means many people switch in an out, depending on their personal gear needs and the needs of the fight. This gives us a significant advantage as it allows us to apply the right tool (group makeup) to the right job in whatever content we are engaged in.

Tyranny does not have a "bench" or "back-up" raiders. We do not recruit for that, because all our members are equal in rank and utility.

At the present, we are utilizing a Loot Council system. We switched off a long used DKP system for Icecrown as an experiment. The guild loot councilors are also the officers.

Below is a list of some of our achievements:

THE APPLICATION PROCESS
Step 1) Submit an App by clicking on the application button on the top of the page.
Step 2) Shortly after, an officer will post the app in the Application subforum (click on Forums, it's there). The app will be reviewed by members who will offer feedback and you will have a chance to reply to their feedback. These apps are only viewable to members of the website to protect your privacy. Tyranny members have instructions to be informative and respectful.
Step 3) Within 2 days, your app will see a rejected or offered post at the bottom of it by Skroesec. You may also receive an email and in-game tells to facilitate the process.

THE RECRUITMENT PHASE
The Recruit phase in Tyranny lasts for 30 days (roughly 20 raid nights). During the recruitment phase you will be responsible for providing your own raiding mats (flasks/pots) and enchanting mats/gems. You will also be 2nd priority on loot behind members and recruits who have been there significantly loger. Once you are invited, loot rules will be more clearly explained.

Recruit's often fill a very specific need in the guild... we do not recruit "bench" players. There is no "primary raiding spots" to be had in this guild. Everyone is of equal value. As such, recruits are often thrown deep into the thick of our latest progression, and will be expected to adapt quickly. They will be expected to be on top of our strategies.

One thing we emphasis in this guild is communication. If asked a question on vent, you are expected to reply on vent. We understand some people are nervous about talking to people they don't know very well online, and we will ease you into this, but you will be expected to take the first step and be vocal.

In line with that, we don't pretend to know everything. If you know a better way to do something, or your old guild had a better strategy than we did, by all means, tell us. We've changed established strats before because recruits suggested something we missed.

Remember, a recruit is someone we HOPE will be a strong contributor to the guild and someone worth making member. You have to work for it. The guild will be firm, but also fair. If you earn our trust, then Tyranny will be a good home to you for a very long time.
